BIODIESEL VALUE CHAIN
Before biodiesel is available to the end-user as a fuel for diesel engines, it is evolving through various value-adding steps, starting from the cultivation of oil palms on plantations in Thailand’s southern region and eventually resulting in blended methyl ester, which is currently available for example as B5 at about 400 petrol stations in Chiang Mai and Bangkok.

GREEN POWER CORPORATION uses crude palm oil as feedstock, which in the upstream value chain is yielded from bunches of fruits of oil palms and subsequently refined and distilled. The production of biodiesel takes place by means of a base catalyzed transesterification of palm oil with methanol, which leads to methyl ester as well as the byproducts glycerin and fatty acids. After several further refinement and distillation steps, biodiesel is ready to pass a final quality control before being sold to direct customers of GREEN POWER CORPORATION. On the following level biodiesel is typically mixed with conventional diesel oil, which gives a blended fuel that can be used on final consumption level for all vehicles with diesel engines. Logistically biodiesel can be stored, transported and distributed using all existing systems of tanks, pipelines, and pumps.

As we are dedicated to provide our customers with premium-quality biodiesel fuel, the management and alignment of the entire value chain is vitally important. GREEN POWER CORPORATION has therefore installed permanent quality controls for effective supply chain management.
