One of the major advantages of biodiesel is that it can be used in existing engines and fuel injection equipment without negative impacts on operating performance. It naturally possesses a high cetane number and is thus a high-quality fuel with excellent ignition performance. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Biodiesel is the only alternative diesel fuel that actually reduces major greenhouse gas components in the atmosphere. It cuts emissions of carbon monoxide by approximately 50% and carbon dioxide by 78% on a net lifecycle basis. The use of biodiesel also significantly reduces the emissions of ozone-forming-hydrocarbons, hazardous diesel particulates, and acid rain-causing sulfur dioxide. Furthermore, it virtually eliminates visible smoke and noxious odors and is easily biodegradable so that spillage represents little danger to the environment.

LOGISTICAL HANDLING
Biodiesel easily blends and stays blended with petroleum diesel. Thus it can be stored and dispensed wherever diesel is stored or sold. For the transportation and distribution all existing fuel systems (tanks, pipelines, pumps) can be used. Because biodiesel is non-toxic, biodegradable and non-flammable with a very high flash point, handling and storage are safer than compared with conventional petroleum diesel.
